Frequently Asked Questions
What areas do you specialize in as a licensed therapist?
I help adults in Santa Clarita—and anywhere in California online—who are tired of feeling anxious, overwhelmed, and never “good enough.” My work centers around anxiety, perfectionism, people-pleasing, trauma, burnout, and low self-esteem. Many of my clients are adults navigating life transitions, cultural pressure, or complicated family roles that make it hard to slow down or set boundaries. I also support those dealing with deep emotional overwhelm and patterns rooted in childhood or unmet inner-child needs.
Do you offer Brainspotting and EMDR therapy in Santa Clarita?
Yes. I offer both Brainspotting and EMDR therapy for clients who want deeper, trauma-focused healing. These approaches help process stuck emotions, negative beliefs, and body-based trauma responses. Sessions for these therapy modalities are also available online for flexibility and accessibility.
What is the difference between Brainspotting and EMDR?
EMDR uses bilateral stimulation (eye movements, audio, or tapping) to reprocess memories and reduce emotional distress. Brainspotting uses fixed eye positions, attunement, and mindfulness to access deeper subcortical parts of the brain where trauma is stored. Both are powerful, and effective for trauma, anxiety, and feeling “stuck.” Particularly for clients who have not seen helpful outcomes from traditional talk therapy, I would suggest exploring EMDR or brainspotting therapy.
Do you provide online therapy for clients who live in California?
Yes. I offer HIPAA-compliant virtual therapy for clients throughout California. Many clients prefer online sessions because they’re convenient, private, and reduce the stress of commuting.
How do I know if Brainspotting or EMDR is right for me?
These methods are helpful if you:
Feel stuck in old patterns
Experience trauma symptoms
Struggle with anxiety, shame, or overthinking
Carry emotional pain from childhood or relationships
Want deeper work beyond traditional talk therapy
During our consultation, we’ll explore which approach is the best fit for your goals.
Do you accept insurance?
I am in-network with most AETNA and Optum/UHC plans. If I am out-of-network, I can provide a monthly superbill that you may submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement.
What is a Good Faith Estimate under the No Surprises Act?
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate (GFE) explaining how much your therapy services may cost. This estimate outlines the expected fees for services before you begin treatment. While it is not a bill, it helps you plan financially and understand the approximate cost of your care. I provide every client with a Good Faith Estimate upon request or before starting therapy, as required by law.
What if I’ve never been to therapy before?
That’s completely okay! Many clients come to me unsure of where to begin. I guide you through each step, help you understand your patterns, and create a safe space where you don’t have to perform, be perfect, or have everything figured out.
